Mikołaj Marcisz
Founder & Chief Creative Officer
Founder, Chief Creative Officer at Vavel Games. Mikołaj is a game designer, producer and creative director, adviser to a number of gaming & tech companies.
In 2017 Vavel Games acquired “ATX” a multi-million dollar MMO platform from Kabam along with the game Imperium Galactic War which Vavel relaunched two years later. Mikołaj was personally responsible for the relaunch of the title and acted as the head of the project, and head of studios ever since.
John Balestrieri
Co-Founder & CEO
John Balestrieri has over twenty years of Technology Management, Gaming, Advertising and Entertainment Experience. John was the former Worldwide CTO of Ogilvy.
one of the largest and most prestigious advertising agencies in the world. He has worked as both the COO & CTO for a number of technology companies. Best known for his work on Kasparov vs. Deep Blue, he architected and oversaw the development of a full MMORTS Game at Kabam and has worked on a number of mobile game titles that have hit #1 on the US charts generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. He is an advisor to a number of international gaming and media companies around the globe.
Magnus Orregard
Chairman of The Board
Chairman of the Board since 2019. Magnus has a background as Authorized Public Accountant at PWC and EY.
Since then has started the Skellefte business for the incubator ABI where he worked with startup companies with international growth potential for 5 years. Magnus currently works as Sr Business Advisor and is a partner in the company Balanced Business Development.

Nav Sunner, a board member of Vavel Games is best known for being the Commercial Director at Microsoft and Head of Legal at Codemasters.
Tomasz Muchalski
Investor, Advisor
Tomasz Muchalski is an Investor, advisor to Vavel Games. He is the CEO of Strict Minds Communications and a board member at a publicly traded mobile game publishing company Vivid Games.
Jakub Pieczykolan
Investor, Advisor
Jakub is the Founder and CEO of Qubic Games SA, a publicly traded company on Warsaw exchange (QUBICGMS).
Thanks to his positive decision Qubic Games became one of the largest investors in Vavel, and subsequently funded the relaunch the MMO project Imperium: Galactic War. He has been acting as one of our advisors ever since.

Matt Walker is a seasoned entrepreneur, who has started and run companies in a diverse set of industries. Matt was formally CTO at 24/7 Media.
Tomek Miścior
Tech Director
Tomek Miścior is the Tech Director at Vavel, primarily responsible for Imperium. Some of the projects Tomek worked on include "Frostpunk" and "This War of Mine". He brings over a decade of programming experience to the team.
John Boomershine
Design Director
Design Director and Lead Writer at Vavel Games.
John is a twenty-year veteran of AAA game development, bringing a wide variety of game design, content development, and writing credits on titles such as EverQuest, Blitzkrieg II, Game of Thrones: Ascent, and Star Trek: Timelines, spanning a wide variety of gaming genres and popular IPs. John capably leverages his talents in game design and storytelling to help each project reach for epic levels of quality. .

Miko founded the company and named it after the Polish Royal Castle Wawel from his home city, Krakow - it constitutes as the most historically and culturally important site in Poland. For centuries it has been the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood. Because our team strives to create the best gaming experiences, we believe that taking the name after one of the greatest castles in the world has been the right choice.
